Case 49 - Turnabout Aftermath

[Well, it's Thursday and Kay's finally back from Westport.  After more glasses of water than a human being should be able to hold, a stack of pancakes, and a long nap, she gets on the phones.]

That was really weird.  Was it the town's fault this time?  There were no hazmats or anything over there, and all the street signs were gone.  I mean, I'm glad to be back, but I wish I knew why it happened.

...Oh well.  Is everybody else okay?  What happened over here while we were gone?

I'm starved!  Want to make some sushi together later and have a date?  It's been a while.

Okay, now that that's over, I think we've earned some relaxation time.  I'm gonna see if I can kick Keiichi out of the house for a night so we can have a girls' night in.  What do you guys say?  Tomorrow night, after everybody's done with school and work?  We can sit around in our pajamas and eat ice cream and watch crappy movies and talk about boys and stuff!

[Yeah, she's totally serious.  What is being an adult.]

[Kay grins back, throwing her arms around Yamamoto's neck and pulling him into a kiss.]

[Laughs a little, affectionately rubbing her nose against his before pulling back.]

[ His smile visibly brightens as he kisses her back, holding her close even after she pulled back. ]

You ready for this dinner date?

[In that case, she keeps her arms around him, just sort of lazily hanging there as she smiles.]

[Her tummy growls a little in agreement.]

[ He laughs and kisses her again, sorta shuffling inside while trying to keep this position. ]

[ Yamamoto kicks the door closed with his foot and kisses her again. ]

[ Yamamoto? Totally not complaining. When they get to the kitchen, he stops shuffling so he can concentrate on kissing her. ]

[Kay grins into the kiss, wrapping one arm tightly around Yamamoto's waist while running her other hand through his hair. Might be a while before they can start dinner.]

[ Again, Yamamoto? Totally not complaining. Dinner can wait, and it's not like he's even started the rice yet.

So he's going to enjoy this. ]

[It gets pretty heated! But after a little while, Kay's stomach growls loudly and inappropriately, breaking the mood as she starts laughing.]

Ah... guess we should probably start dinner, huh?

[ Just as he was about to move this to the couch--I mean.

He pulls back and grins, laughing to himself. Even though food sounds tempting... ]

...Probably. You wanna help me make the rice first?

[Still blushing a little, Kay nods.]

Great. You know how to make rice?

[ As he parts from her slowly, moving over toward the kitchen counter where he has a bag of rice and a large pot. ]

[Kay heads over to get the rice on, then.]

[ And Yamamoto whips some fish out of the freezer. Aww yeah, he's going to gut them and everything. Like a good baby chef-in-training.

He's not all that pro at it yet though. ]

[Once she's got the rice on, she heads over to the other side of the kitchen to watch Yamamoto making his preparations. She makes some mildly disgusted faces at watching him gut the fish.]

Ew, gross! That must've taken a while to get used to.
